WINTER.

Location: Reno, Nevada

Like I said in the last post, the past couple of weeks have been MENTAL. We've been planning to get our asses out to Reno since before Christmas break, so we finally went. It was a pretty cool drive, as we were going up the weather wasn't too bad but we could see powder on the mountains.

Since this was our first time snowboarding we went to Boreal which I guess is kind of the panty place but I still was a little scared. We boarded for a good 5 hours. Mike's genius idea was to go to the "Medium" slope. It didn't seem too bad, but once we saw through the fog and it was twice as high as we thought, it was trouble. We managed to get down, but we'll go again for sure.
yup. thats me.

After that we went to Mitch's house who we were staying at in Reno. His roommates we're pretty cool and really nice and explained alot to us about snowboarding. Its a pretty good set up they got, a whole house with three guys and its not too far from the strip.

We ate at El Dorado's buffet and it was delicious. Crab legs, yum.

The next day we woke up too sore to get out in the snow again, so we went for breakfast. Theres this amazingly huge sports store called Scheels. It amazing, like I mean AMAZING. Theres a farris wheel inside the building, like in it. They have everything you could want. Mike was wanting a board so he got a 5150 board, boots, and bindings for $250.

I found some pretty neat color block buildings, something I wasnt expecting in RENO of all places.

As we were about to leave it start snowing in Reno, so by the time we hit the mountains we had to put the chains on. It turned out not to be that bad, but it still cost $30 to have the guy put the chains on.

It was a good trip, so we're gonna be drive up to snowboard more. Maybe later on I'll get me one too, but I want the arbor board with the islands. It basically looks like a paddle, with the Hawaiian islands on the back. Its sick.
Did you know that 90% of Reno's land is government owned meaning you can do whatever you want on the land. Pretty crazy, but there is something special about the snow.

I was legal.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Ok, so since my birthday on the 17th, things have been pretty crazy. So I'm gonna have to throw back on some of this.

My homegirl Dani came down to the city for my birthday weekend from Santa Clara. We went to Japan town to eat dinner on Friday night with Sean.

After that we chilled with some of Mike's boys and went to see NOTORIOUS. I came out of that movie just wishing Tupac wasn't dead. Forget Biggie. That's all I gotta say about that one.
Then on saturday we decided to get our piercings, Dani got her nose, I got my eat. We went to Haight to get it done and the guy that did it was pretty cool. But Sean just had to top us and get a pretty awesome tattoo.

That night we went to this house thing with some of Mike's boys to chill. I was glad to be 18, but I felt pretty bad cuz I called this girl ugly, I mean , not to her face or nothing. But i still felt bad.

Awww, we finally take pictures.

Oh this is one cool ass couple. That's Anthony and Keisha, Anthony goes to Santa Clara with Dani and Keisha goes to Berkley. Pretty chill.
Blake's birthday was the 16th, so after that we went to Blake's house for a little fambam kinda thing. He finally got his bike and gotta say it's pretty sick.

Yup Blake can ride like that, haha naw I really tried to get this picture to face the right way but its ok, it makes Blake look like a bad ass.
It was a pretty fun weekend.

I think Danielle had a good time too.

back to the dorm life of APU

well this past saturday night, or sunday morning we got to evacuate the building for a lovely fire alarm that was randomly pulled by a couple of guys, everyone got to stand outside in the parkinglot in their pajamas cause it was 4 am. but of course one time isn't enough so at 5 am the same guys come back to do it again . . . idiots.  this time they get chased down by the men of engstrom.  turns out they were getting ready to leave for the marines in a week. very disappointing.

sunday night was more excitement when God blessed us with thunder and lightning followed by HAIL. what the heck?! yeah das foreal.

Working on the DATSUN.

Location: South City, CA
Yesterday, I went with Mike to work on his 1970 Datsun 510. I did my part and made a sheet metal panel around the shifter. I had to make a template, cut the metal, and bend it to shape all by myself. That's my contribution to the car, and I am proud of it.

Ok, so maybe I didn't do much to really help with the engine and all mechanical part, but when anybody sees that car they're gonna say -" Wow, that is an increadible panel right there."
Somewhere in the 5 hours we were there, we left the radio going and killed the honda battery. Luckily, we had the Datsun up and running and could jumper cable the car. It took some work to get the beast started. The first couple of times we tried the ignition all we got was some pretty little bangs sounds leaving bells ringing in my ears. Haha, naw, but it was pretty loud, the first thing I thought was- op, someone got shot. Since we were there, we took some pictures of the Datsun. Hopefully it'll be done by May.

See that fatlace sticker right there, that's right. I put it there. I used those $50,000 worth of architecture skills to put it perfectly straight. Enjoy.

got SLEPT ON.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Ok, so its only been what like eight days of 2009 and what can I say- its been crazy. From about New Years Eve on turned into this huge blur.

So here it goes: New Years Eve I went to kick it with the fam bam and at night to Danielle's house. Got to say, New Years Eve (Although the sucky weather) was pretty fun. New Year's Day I went to even more of the familia. Sometime in there, I went to kick it at Mary's with Jess, hang out with Rory, and go beach. Sorry I have no pictures, but I do have a hilarious story.

At Haleiwa (North Shore) while we were sitting outside enjoying th ono shave ice, I had a confrontation with my "filipinoness". In case you didn't know, I'm not filipino. So as I'm enjoying the delicious icyness this guy with like a New Zealand accent asks me about my shave ice. I humor him and answer and then out of left field he asks, " Are you from the Philipines?". Not just "Are you Filipino?" it is ARE YOU FROM THE PHILIPINES?. Man, not only is he sayng that I look filipino, but F.O.B. I am definately not fresh off the boat, sheesh, I'm home grown from Oahu. Of couse my awesome friends start cracking up (In his face). So I inform him I'm not and his Haole friend asks, "Not even a little?" and of couse my answer is "ohhh, NO." Then they ask me what I am and after I answer "Puerto Rican and Japanese" this story becomes a classic. As Danielle always says "I have COME TELL ME YOUR LIFE STORY on my forehead". Not to mention the fact that I get crap about looking filipino all the time.

I really can't remember what else I did, but I'm back in the city. I'm glad to be back, but I can't say I missed the cold. Imma be legal soon, so once something interesting happens I'll update.
