WINTER.

Location: Reno, Nevada

Like I said in the last post, the past couple of weeks have been MENTAL. We've been planning to get our asses out to Reno since before Christmas break, so we finally went. It was a pretty cool drive, as we were going up the weather wasn't too bad but we could see powder on the mountains.

Since this was our first time snowboarding we went to Boreal which I guess is kind of the panty place but I still was a little scared. We boarded for a good 5 hours. Mike's genius idea was to go to the "Medium" slope. It didn't seem too bad, but once we saw through the fog and it was twice as high as we thought, it was trouble. We managed to get down, but we'll go again for sure.
yup. thats me.

After that we went to Mitch's house who we were staying at in Reno. His roommates we're pretty cool and really nice and explained alot to us about snowboarding. Its a pretty good set up they got, a whole house with three guys and its not too far from the strip.

We ate at El Dorado's buffet and it was delicious. Crab legs, yum.

The next day we woke up too sore to get out in the snow again, so we went for breakfast. Theres this amazingly huge sports store called Scheels. It amazing, like I mean AMAZING. Theres a farris wheel inside the building, like in it. They have everything you could want. Mike was wanting a board so he got a 5150 board, boots, and bindings for $250.

I found some pretty neat color block buildings, something I wasnt expecting in RENO of all places.

As we were about to leave it start snowing in Reno, so by the time we hit the mountains we had to put the chains on. It turned out not to be that bad, but it still cost $30 to have the guy put the chains on.

It was a good trip, so we're gonna be drive up to snowboard more. Maybe later on I'll get me one too, but I want the arbor board with the islands. It basically looks like a paddle, with the Hawaiian islands on the back. Its sick.
Did you know that 90% of Reno's land is government owned meaning you can do whatever you want on the land. Pretty crazy, but there is something special about the snow.
