Yesterday, I went with Mike to work on his 1970 Datsun 510. I did my part and made a sheet metal panel around the shifter. I had to make a template, cut the metal, and bend it to shape all by myself. That's my contribution to the car, and I am proud of it.
Ok, so maybe I didn't do much to really help with the engine and all mechanical part, but when anybody sees that car they're gonna say -" Wow, that is an increadible panel right there."
Somewhere in the 5 hours we were there, we left the radio going and killed the honda battery. Luckily, we had the Datsun up and running and could jumper cable the car. It took some work to get the beast started. The first couple of times we tried the ignition all we got was some pretty little bangs sounds leaving bells ringing in my ears. Haha, naw, but it was pretty loud, the first thing I thought was- op, someone got shot. Since we were there, we took some pictures of the Datsun. Hopefully it'll be done by May.
See that fatlace sticker right there, that's right. I put it there. I used those $50,000 worth of architecture skills to put it perfectly straight. Enjoy.
